Discovering the area

The Mount Amiata area in Tuscany is located between the Maremma, the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Paglia and is included between the provinces of Grosseto and Siena. The Apparitoio Farmhouse is located on the Grosseto side, on the slopes of Monte Amiata which from its 1738 m dominates the entire valley. This area is unusual and precious, full of paths between chestnut and beech trees, it is ideal for trekking lovers, but also for thermal water enthusiasts. The ancient volcano in fact offers waters that we can appreciate in the spas of San Filippo, Bagno Vignoni and Saturnia.

The surrounding villages are rich in history and culture, corners to be discovered even during the many festivals that keep traditions alive and where you can taste typical local dishes. A few km away is the Tibetan center of Merigar, one of the points of reference for the International Dzogchen Community.
